I'm innocent. The state prosecutors have not been able to bring any new evidence to prove that I am guilty of what I am charged with and that I should continue to be detained in penitentiary. These are the statements made by the MP of the "SHOR" Party, Marina Tauber, after the Chisinau Court, Ciocana seat, decided today to extend the arrest warrant for another 20 days, in Penitentiary No. 13 from the capital.
„My arrest warrant has been extended for 20 days in Penitentiary No. 13. This is an unexpected decision. I hope that there are serious reasons behind it, because today, the state prosecutors have not been able to bring any new evidence that would serve as a basis for my continued detention in penitentiary, in other words, for me to stay in prison. I am disappointed by the actions of the Moldovan justice system today, but not as a person who must return to the penitentiary, but as a citizen of the Republic of Moldova. It is a crime against our people, it is very clear that it is a blackmail by Maia Sandu against Ilan Shor, so that we stop the protests and criticism of the government and allow her to continue to rob our country”, stated Marina Tauber.
According to prosecutors, Marina Tauber is accused of falsifying the report on the financial management of the "SHOR" Party and making payments to artists who were to perform at the June 19 concert in the Grand National Assembly Square and that these expenses were not reported. Marina Tauber, however, pleads not guilty.
„We are not guilty of what we are accused of. It's a hastily sewn with white thread file. After 19 June, Maia Sandu and PAS and all those who are in her employ, such as Litvinenco, Musteata and so on are annoyed that we are a serious power, that we are growing in the surveys and that people who see that the government has collapsed trust us. What is happening now in Moldova is a nightmare”, added Marina Tauber.
At the same time, MP Marina Tauber urged the members and supporters of the "SHOR" Party to be strong and fight to the end.
„I am addressing our leader, Ilan Shor, our team, our fellow MPs and all those who support me: We must remain strong, we must fight. We see that the prosecution and the state accusers have no evidence to prove our guilt. It is absurd, a stage of circus, a show of bad taste. We will not allow them to do all this. We will fight, we have to fight for people's rights, so that no one goes through what I, my family, the 'SHOR' Party in opposition are going through”, pointed Marina Tauber.
Lawyers argue that Marina Tauber can undoubtedly be considered a political prisoner.
